On Wednesday, Pakistan took the diplomatic step of recalling its ambassador to Iran, a decision made in response to the recent attack on Balochistan province by Iranian forces using drones and missiles. Simultaneously, the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, currently in Iran, has been requested to delay their return for the time being.
Late on Tuesday night, Tehran's state media reported that Iran had conducted strikes on two bases belonging to the militant group Jaish ul-Adl in Pakistan's turbulent Balochistan province. Pakistan officially acknowledged the attack, lamenting the loss of two children's lives and injuring three others in the process.
The Foreign Office of Pakistan strongly condemned the incident, characterizing it as an "unprovoked violation of its airspace" by Iran. The Foreign Office asserted Pakistan's vehement protest, deeming the violation of sovereignty "completely unacceptable" and warning of potential "serious consequences."
In response to Iran's actions, Pakistan registered a robust protest with a high-ranking official in the Iranian Foreign Ministry in Tehran and summoned the Iranian Charge d'Affaires to address the matter.
Jaish ul-Adl, the targeted militant group, had previously conducted attacks on Iranian security forces in the border region with Pakistan, according to reports from news agency Reuters.
Additionally, Iran's Revolutionary Guards launched missile attacks on targets in Iraq and Syria on Monday.
