In the village of Basurte in Belagavi, Karnataka, an unfortunate incident unfolded as Sugandha More, a 50-year-old Anganwadi worker, allegedly faced physical assault. The altercation reportedly stemmed from children associated with the Anganwadi center plucking flowers from a neighboring house on Monday, January 1.
Sugandha More, who serves as a helper at the Anganwadi center, purportedly bore the brunt of the situation when Kalyani, the owner of the house where the flowers were taken from, expressed her displeasure. The aftermath of the incident saw Kalyani allegedly assaulting Sugandha and causing harm to her nose, leading to critical injuries. Disturbing visuals depicting the severity of the assault have emerged, underscoring the gravity of the situation.
Notably, this distressing occurrence transpired in the home district of Karnataka Cabinet's Women and Child Development Minister, Lakshmi Hebbalkar, adding a layer of significance to the incident. A case has been registered at the Kakati police station, and authorities are actively pursuing the accused, Kalyani, who remains at large as of now.
