Encouraging the UK to adopt a fresh perspective and discard outdated viewpoints, Indian Deputy High Commissioner Sujit Ghosh emphasized the importance of "seeing India for what it is" during his address at the annual UK-India Parliamentary Lunch in London. Ghosh underscored London's unique position to capitalize on India's ascendancy, highlighting the mutual benefits of strengthened ties between the two nations.
Speaking at the event organized by the India Global Forum (IGF), which convenes influential figures from various sectors to foster collaboration between the UK and India, Ghosh discussed the burgeoning relationship between the two countries, emphasizing India's dynamic digital economy and the abundant opportunities it presents.
According to a post on the social media platform X, Ghosh remarked, "India is not only creating opportunities for its citizens but also for the global community. The UK stands to gain significantly from India's progress." He urged British counterparts to adopt a fresh perspective, free from preconceived notions.
Echoing Ghosh's sentiments, UK Home Secretary James Cleverly highlighted the significance of the "living bridge" between the UK and India, emphasizing the importance of people-to-people connections and collaboration in various spheres.
Manoj Ladwa, the founder of IGF, emphasized the pivotal role of collaboration between democracies, particularly in navigating contemporary geopolitical, trade, and investment landscapes.
