Motilal Oswal, who holds the positions of Co-Founder, Managing Director, and CEO within the Motilal Oswal group, recently made a significant acquisition—a brand new Tata Safari SUV, celebrating the availability of world-class Indian products. He took to his official Twitter handle to share the news, posting an image of the sleek black Tata Safari.
In his announcement, the entrepreneur expressed his dedication to adopting a minimalist and uncomplicated lifestyle, affirming his embrace of a Desi lifestyle. Oswal also revealed his decision to discontinue purchasing foreign-made cars, watches, and other luxury items, instead opting for premium-quality Indian products that are now readily accessible. He initiated this shift with the purchase of his Tata Safari, signaling his intent to continue supporting indigenous brands, with his next choice slated to be a vehicle from Mahindra.
This move aligns with the "Vocal for Local" initiative championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aimed at promoting the usage of domestically produced goods to propel national progress and realize the vision of a self-reliant India (Aatmanirbhar Bharat). PM Modi, especially amidst the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, has urged the nation to strive for self-sufficiency.
During his address at the 95th Annual Plenary session of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in June 2020, Modi underscored the importance of every citizen's commitment to transforming crises into opportunities. Since then, there has been a surge in citizens' support for products labeled 'Made in India', reflecting a collective effort to bolster domestic industries and foster economic resilience.
