Congress alleges that job seekers in Israel make "mockery" of the country's flourishing economy

The Congress criticized the government on Saturday regarding reports of individuals lining up in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana for employment opportunities in Israel, emphasizing that it underscores the dire unemployment scenario in the nation and undermines assertions of a thriving economy.

Jairam Ramesh, Congress general secretary, highlighted the phenomenon, pointing out that numerous young men are seeking employment in Israel, particularly as replacements for Palestinian workers, particularly in light of recent developments at the International Court of Justice.

Ramesh questioned the prevailing unemployment situation within India, juxtaposing it against claims of robust job creation within the country's economy. He raised concerns about the disparity between the reported job-seeking trends and the government's assertions of economic prosperity.

The International Court of Justice, in its recent interim judgment, refrained from mandating a ceasefire in Gaza but urged Israel to mitigate casualties and destruction during its military campaign. The court also decided to retain genocide charges against Israel for its military operations in Gaza, marking a significant development in the ongoing case.

The Congress has consistently criticized the government's economic management, highlighting rising unemployment and inflation as significant concerns.
