Congress leader on PM's 11-day Ramadan ritual: I'm not sure if he fasted

Congress leader Veerappa Moily has expressed skepticism regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 11-day fast for the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony, stating that he has doubts about the Prime Minister's ability to stay alive during such an extended period of fasting. Moily, sharing his doubts with the media on Tuesday, recounted a conversation with a doctor during his morning walk who asserted that humans cannot survive an 11-day fast. Moily questioned whether Modi's survival during the fast could be considered a miracle.

During his remarks, Moily emphasized the importance of fasting for sanctity, suggesting that if Modi entered the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Mandir without fasting, the place would become impure, and power would not be generated from that location.

In response to Moily's comments, Karnataka BJP MP Lahar Singh Siroya criticized the Congress leader, stating that Moily, despite presenting himself as a great writer, assumes everyone is as insincere as he is. Siroya asserted that Moily's doubts about PM Modi's fast were unfounded, emphasizing that faith in Lord Ram allows for survival during fasting. He also hinted that Moily's efforts to please the Gandhi family would not secure him a Congress ticket for the Chikkaballapur constituency.
