A recent incident in Punjab's Faridkot led to the arrest of a man, Angrez Singh from Fazilka, who attempted to take a multi-purpose health workers exam by impersonating a girl at DAV Public School in Kotkapura on January 7.
The university administration, utilizing biometric devices, exposed the accused who had created a false identity with counterfeit Aadhar and voter cards. Following this discovery, a complaint was promptly filed with the police, raising suspicions of involvement in a potentially larger network.
The boy, disguised as a girl for the examination, adorned himself with red bangles, a bindi, and lipstick, and was attired in a ladies' suit. Dr Rajeev Sud, Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, revealed that Angrez was taking the exam on behalf of Paramjit Kaur, a resident of Fazilka. The university took swift action by detaining the imposter, and the genuine candidate's form was rejected.
Police have registered a case against the accused, and a comprehensive investigation is currently underway. Faridkot SP Jasmeet Singh stated, "We received a complaint from Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, and we are currently investigating the matter. We will take appropriate action after completing our inquiry."
