In Nepal, an Indian-registered vehicle plunges into a river; no casualties are reported

Authorities in Nepal initiated a search operation following an incident where a vehicle bearing an Indian number plate plunged into the Trishuli River in Chitwan district, Bagmati province, early Tuesday morning, as confirmed by officials from the Mungling police station.

The vehicle in question, identified as a Bolero with the number plate BR 09 BC 1430, reportedly fell from a bridge into the river at approximately 4:30 am. While police are actively searching to determine if anyone is missing, reports from both police and eyewitnesses indicate that the driver of the vehicle managed to escape before the jeep descended into the river and is now confirmed to be safe.

A media report quoting Chitwan Police Spokesperson DSP Shree Ram Bhandari elaborated that, based on eyewitness accounts, the driver left the scene around 5:30 am in another vehicle. Before the accident, the driver reportedly leaped out of the car to ensure his safety and subsequently departed in another vehicle. The details were shared by the MyRepublica news portal.
