India emphasizes its active participation in Afghanistan outreach at a meeting organized by the Taliban


India actively participated in a regional conference hosted by the Taliban in Kabul on Monday, underscoring its commitment to engaging in both international and regional efforts concerning Afghanistan. The involvement of India in this important gathering highlights its dedication to fostering stability and development in the region through diplomatic channels.

Representing India at the conference was Rambabu Chellappa, head of the country's technical team in Kabul. He reiterated India's active involvement in various international and regional initiatives aimed at promoting Afghanistan's stability and development. Chellappa's presence at the meeting symbolizes India's proactive approach to regional diplomacy and its willingness to collaborate with other nations for the betterment of Afghanistan.

The conference, known as Afghanistan’s ‘Regional Cooperation Initiative’, brought together special envoys and diplomats from several countries, including Russia, China, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. Chaired by Afghanistan's Foreign Minister, Amir Khan Muttaqi, the session focused on Afghanistan's aspirations for stability and progress.

Muttaqi highlighted Afghanistan's recent achievements under Taliban governance, such as enhancing security, combating threats, prohibiting poppy cultivation, and initiating significant development projects. He urged participants to accurately convey Afghanistan's current situation at the forthcoming Doha meeting and emphasized the importance of constructive engagement and cooperation based on mutual interests.

The discussions at the conference centered on bolstering regional cooperation, promoting economic development, and addressing common threats. Muttaqi reiterated the Taliban's commitment to respecting the interests and governance models of other nations while expecting reciprocal respect for Afghanistan's choices.
