MP from Trinamool warns Amit Shah of "clashes" on the day of the Ram Mandir event in a letter

Trinamool Congress MP Dibyendu Adhikari has communicated his concerns to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, expressing apprehension about potential violence erupting in West Bengal on January 22, coinciding with the consecration event of the Ram Mandir. In his correspondence, Adhikari, who is also the brother of BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari, asserted that certain leaders, including Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, are actively attempting to kindle tensions under the guise of "samhati diwas" or unity day.

In his letter, Adhikari articulated his fear of divisive elements exploiting the occasion, warning of the possibility of political figures instigating communal clashes. He cautioned against the potential manipulation of sentiments by frustrated political stalwarts, emphasizing the need to remain vigilant against any attempts to sow the seeds of discord.

Notably, the Trinamool Congress observes "Sanhati Diwas" to commemorate the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition, adding a layer of sensitivity to the prevailing political climate.

In addition to addressing the Home Minister, Dibyendu Adhikari also corresponded with Governor CV Ananda Bose, with whom he, along with his father and MP Sishir Adhikari, had a meeting a week ago. This proactive communication underscores Adhikari's commitment to conveying his concerns to relevant authorities.

It is pertinent to mention that Dibyendu Adhikari, elected to the Lok Sabha in 2019 on a TMC ticket, has been noticeably absent from TMC events since 2021. Moreover, he has frequently voiced criticism of the state government, reflecting a shift in his political affiliations and allegiances.
