With a background that includes serving as a legislative director and deputy Chief of Staff in the California State Senate, Tara officially launched her campaign last month, placing a primary focus on critical issues such as housing affordability, climate change, and educational challenges.
Expressing her excitement on the social media platform X, Tara revealed significant endorsements, particularly from the local firefighters. "I'm thrilled to share that the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 1171, representing our dedicated firefighters in Santa Clara, has officially endorsed my campaign for California State Assembly District 26," she announced.
In addition to the firefighters' endorsement, Tara has garnered support from prominent figures, including California Assembly majority leader Cecilia Aguiar-Curry, Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors President Susan Ellenberg, and the California Labor Federation.
Tara has highlighted her unwavering commitment to addressing key priorities, encompassing the creation of safer neighborhoods, support for older adults, tackling housing affordability, confronting climate change, alleviating traffic congestion, and implementing reforms in the education system.

Drawing inspiration from her immigrant parents, Tara underscored the values of education and community involvement instilled in her upbringing. Currently serving on the Santa Clara County Board of Education, where she oversees 270,000 students across 31 school districts, Tara brings a wealth of experience. Her extensive background includes serving as a key aide and advisor to a state senator in the legislature and the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors.
The campaign has highlighted Tara's instrumental role in drafting and passing various legislation, as well as her adept navigation of bureaucratic processes on behalf of constituents.
