Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has entered into a significant agreement with GODI India Private Limited, marking a substantial Rs 8,000 crore deal for the establishment of a 12.5 GWh cell manufacturing facility in Telangana. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed during the World Economic Forum in Davos, where Chief Minister Revanth Reddy collaborated with Mahesh Godi, the founder and CEO of GODI India Private Limited.
The substantial investment is earmarked for the creation of Lithium and Sodium Ion, along with related technologies, research, and development facilities in Telangana over five years, as per an official release. This ambitious project is anticipated to generate approximately 6,000 job opportunities in its initial phase.
The released statement outlined the phased development plan, indicating the establishment of a 2.5 GWh cell assembly line in Phase 1, with a strategic expansion target to reach 10 GWh in the subsequent phase.
Expressing his enthusiasm, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized the project's alignment with Telangana's overarching vision to encourage the widespread adoption of electric vehicles. He underscored GODI's pivotal role in contributing to the state's Electric Storage System (ESS) ecosystem.
Mahesh Godi conveyed gratitude to the Telangana government for its unwavering support and voiced confidence that GODI would be instrumental in fostering an ecosystem of Electric Vehicle (EV) and Energy Storage companies within the state.
In another significant development at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy engaged with Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, resulting in the signing of four agreements that entail investments exceeding Rs 12,400 crore ($1.49 billion) in the state of Telangana.
