In Bihar, a man, identified as S Ansari, has been apprehended by the Bihar Police for allegedly falsifying his identity and religious affiliation to establish a connection with a woman constable under the pretext of marriage. The arrest followed the filing of a First Information Report (FIR) by the female police officer.
According to the complaint lodged by the woman constable, S Ansari attempted to blackmail her after she terminated all associations with him upon discovering details about his actual religion.
The deceptive relationship, cultivated based on Ansari's false identity, endured for a year before the complainant took corrective action.
The FIR, which has been accessed by India Today, reveals that S Ansari went to the extent of creating counterfeit social media accounts under an assumed name. Furthermore, he purportedly shared images of the woman constable and himself on these fraudulent accounts.
Ansari is alleged to have subjected the complainant and her mother to repeated verbal abuse and engaged in extortion attempts, as indicated in the complaint.
A senior police official confirmed the arrest on Saturday, stating that a case has been registered under pertinent sections of the Indian Penal Code.
