Andhra Pradesh Congress leader YS Sharmila has labeled Prime Minister Narendra Modi as "cunning" (Jedi), alleging that he has failed to uphold his promises and neglected the development of Andhra Pradesh.
"Modi's actions have been characterized by cunningness, and he has not contributed positively to the advancement of Andhra Pradesh," remarked the Congress leader, expressing her disappointment with the Prime Minister's track record. She specifically pointed out that Modi's pledges, particularly those made during his visit to Tirupati, have not materialized as expected.
In a pointed criticism directed at her elder brother, Jagan Mohan Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Sharmila branded them as part of a "gang of thieves." She accused them of being subservient to the BJP's interests, suggesting collusion between the two parties.
YS Sharmila, who recently merged her YSR Telangana party with the Congress on January 4, reiterated her father's vision of seeing Rahul Gandhi ascend to the position of Prime Minister. As the daughter of former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, she emphasized her dedication to the people of Andhra Pradesh, drawing from her extensive experience of leading padayatras adorned with the YSRCP emblem.
During the recent assembly elections in Telangana, Sharmila threw her support behind the Congress, aiming to counter what she perceives as the corrupt and anti-people governance of the BRS led by K Chandrasekhar Rao.
