At 34, former Karnataka cricket player K Hoysala passes away on the field after a heart attack



In a deeply tragic incident that has recently come to public attention, former Karnataka cricketer K Hoysala, aged 34, suffered a fatal heart attack following a match in the ongoing Aegis South Zone tournament.

The distressing event transpired subsequent to Karnataka's match against Tamil Nadu in the tournament held at the RSI cricket ground in Bengaluru. Following Karnataka's triumphant performance, while rejoicing with the team, Hoysala collapsed on the field, experiencing intense chest pain.

Swift action was taken, and he was immediately transported to Bowring Hospital in Bengaluru via ambulance. However, tragically, he passed away from a heart attack while en route to the hospital. This sorrowful incident unfolded on Thursday, February 22, with its details emerging on the evening of February 23.

Hoysala, known for his prowess as a middle-order batter and bowler, had represented the Karnataka team in the under-25 category and also showcased his talents in the Karnataka Premier League.

Dr. Manoj Kumar, the Dean of Bowring Hospital and Atal Bihari Medical College, stated that the cricketer was brought to the hospital already deceased, and they are currently awaiting the postmortem report.

"Hoysala was brought to the hospital already deceased, with indications pointing towards a heart attack. The postmortem has been conducted, and we are awaiting the comprehensive report," Dr. Kumar conveyed.
