Arvind Kejriwal, who is in ED custody, congratulates Bhagwant Mann on the birth of his daughter

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal extended his congratulations to his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann after the latter welcomed a daughter at a private hospital in Mohali. Kejriwal conveyed his message while exiting the courtroom after his hearing in the liquor policy case, expressing his best wishes to Mann on the arrival of his baby girl.

In response to the news, Bhagwant Mann took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share the joyous announcement, stating that both the mother and the child are in good health. Bhagwant Mann tied the knot with Dr. Gurpreet Kaur in July 2022, in Chandigarh, four months after assuming office as the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court granted a four-day extension of Arvind Kejriwal's Enforcement Directorate remand until April 1. Kejriwal appeared before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja, where the probe agency sought a further seven-day custody, arguing the necessity to confront him with individuals linked to the case.

The Enforcement Directorate accused Kejriwal of providing evasive responses and withholding passwords of his digital devices. Kejriwal, however, countered these allegations by asserting that a false narrative of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) being corrupt had been propagated. He personally made submissions in court, highlighting that he was implicated by four witnesses in the excise policy case and questioning the grounds for arresting a sitting Chief Minister based solely on four statements.

Kejriwal expressed readiness to cooperate with the Enforcement Directorate's investigation but accused the agency of having ulterior motives to suppress AAP. He stated that while he did not oppose the remand petition, he believed it was part of a larger scheme to undermine the party and orchestrate an extortion racket.
