In a special trading session, the Sensex and Nifty reached all-time highs; Paytm shares fell



During Saturday’s special trading session, benchmark stock market indices surged to new record levels, marking significant milestones in their performance.

The S&P BSE Sensex soared to an unprecedented peak of 73,982.12 before experiencing a slight pullback, while the NSE Nifty50 also initially reached a record high.

As of approximately 9:23 am, the Sensex exhibited a rise of 82.93 points, reaching 73,828.18, whereas the Nifty50 showed an increase of 38.70 points, reaching 22,377.45. Moreover, all broader market indices demonstrated positive trends.

The day’s trading activities were divided into two sessions, the first lasting from 9:15 am to 10 am, and the second scheduled from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Notably, during the initial part of the special trading session, most Nifty sectoral indices observed an upward trajectory, with Nifty Media experiencing a noteworthy increase of over 1 percent.

Among the top performers on the Nifty50 were Hero MotoCorp, Tata Steel, Apollo Hospitals, L&T, and Wipro. Conversely, M&M, Power Grid, BPCL, Sun Pharma, and Titan emerged as the top decliners.

Meanwhile, the shares of One97 Communications Limited, the parent company of Paytm, encountered a decline following the imposition of a penalty of nearly Rs 5.5 crore on Paytm Payments Bank for alleged involvement in money laundering activities.
