Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what she described as an "arrogance of power" and alleged that he is attempting to suppress everyone. Her response came shortly after her husband's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a probe related to the Delhi liquor policy.
In a tweet, Sunita Kejriwal accused Modi of having her thrice-elected Chief Minister arrested out of an arrogance of power, stating that he is attempting to crush everyone. She asserted that her husband has always stood by the people of Delhi and emphasized that his dedication to the country remains unwavering whether he is inside or outside jail. She concluded her message with "Jai Hind" (Victory to India).
Arvind Kejriwal, during his appearance in Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court, rejected the allegations leveled against him by the probe agency, affirming that his life is devoted to serving the nation regardless of his location.
The arrest of Arvind Kejriwal has prompted an outcry from several AAP leaders, who have labeled it as a political conspiracy aimed at impeding his participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The AAP has called for a nationwide protest against the BJP in response to Kejriwal's arrest, leading to the detention of several party leaders, including Delhi ministers Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj, during a protest in Delhi.
