What the PM stated at the India Today Conclave, from startups to the war on corruption

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the spotlight at the culminating session of the India Today Conclave 2024, where he delivered a keynote address covering a spectrum of topics including government initiatives, the burgeoning startup culture, the digital revolution, women empowerment, and his ambitious 'Mission 2047'.

This address marked PM Modi's first public statement following the announcement of the Lok Sabha elections scheduled by the Election Commission. Emphasizing the commencement of India's grand democratic process, PM Modi underscored the nation's steadfast commitment to rapid development amidst global uncertainties.

PM Modi articulated a vision for a 'Viksit Bharat' (developed India) with aspirations to elevate India to the status of the world's third-largest economy. He highlighted his preference for action over mere headlines, underscoring his dedication to meeting deadlines.

The Prime Minister elucidated his 'Mission 2047', indicating a long-term focus beyond the immediate horizon of 2029. Responding to Aroon Purie's address, PM Modi humorously urged the India Today team to delve deeper into his vision, affirming his preparations and aspirations for the year 2047.

On the subject of startups, PM Modi commended the success of the Startup India scheme, noting a significant rise from a few hundred startups a decade ago to over 1.25 lakh registered startups today. He underscored the decentralized nature of India's startup ecosystem, extending far beyond Bengaluru to encompass over 600 districts, with particular emphasis on the leadership of youth from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

PM Modi also lauded the transformative impact of government schemes like Mudra and PM Swanidhi, highlighting their role in empowering individuals in rural and semi-urban areas. He celebrated the digitization of India's economy, particularly recognizing the evolution of street vendors into digital pioneers.

Empowering women was another focal point, with PM Modi showcasing his Namo Drone Didi initiative as a means to provide opportunities for women in traditionally male-dominated fields like agriculture.

Furthermore, PM Modi elucidated the financial benefits accrued to the poor through various government schemes, emphasizing significant savings facilitated by initiatives such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Ayushman Bharat.

Zero tolerance towards corruption remained a cornerstone of PM Modi's governance, with robust measures taken to curb malfeasance. He highlighted the substantial increase in assets attached and prosecutions pursued by enforcement agencies under his administration.

PM Modi exuded confidence in the BJP's prospects in the upcoming elections, expressing determination to propel India towards becoming the world's third-largest economic power in the next five years, ensuring stability and strength amidst global uncertainties.
