A school bus in Ranchi overturns, injuring fifteen children

Fifteen children sustained injuries when a school bus overturned in Ranchi, Jharkhand, on Saturday morning. Fortunately, all the children are reported to be safe, according to the police. The incident occurred as the bus, carrying 16 children, overturned at a turning, approximately 100 meters from the St. Maria School in Mandar.

Rahul Kumar, officer-in-charge of Mandar police station, stated, "Fifteen children were injured in the accident, but fortunately, no one was seriously harmed. They received first aid at the hospital. The driver fled the scene."

Expressing concern over the incident, Ajay Rai, president of the Jharkhand Parents' Association, attributed blame to the school administration for neglecting safety protocols. "Safety norms are being blatantly ignored. Drivers should undergo breathalyzer tests before taking the wheel. This incident has raised serious concerns," Rai emphasized.

One parent alleged that the bus was speeding and the driver was on the phone at the time of the accident. "The bus was delayed by 45 minutes today. To compensate for the lost time, the driver was speeding and talking on the phone," the parent claimed.

The bus driver is reported to have fled the scene after the accident, with police launching a search operation to locate him. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident and to verify the parents' allegations.
