Arunachal Pradesh saw a landslide, and the roadway that connected to China washed away

A massive landslide occurred in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday, causing significant damage to a highway that connects with China's border. This highway also serves as the primary route linking the Dibhang Valley district with the rest of India.

Initial reports indicate that a section of the Roing Anini Highway, specifically between Hunli and Anini, has been severely affected by the landslide.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed concern over the incident and instructed authorities to expedite the restoration of connectivity on the affected highway. He emphasized the importance of this road for connecting the Dibang Valley with the rest of the country.

The landslide was triggered by heavy rainfall in the region. The district administration issued a notice to residents of Dibhang Valley, informing them that the restoration work on the Roing Anini highway is expected to take at least three days.

Until the road is fully restored and the weather conditions return to normal, residents are advised to exercise caution and refrain from using the affected route.
