BJP Minority Morcha leader dismissed from party for criticizing the PM's speech

Usman Ghani, the district president of Bikaner BJP Minority Morcha, faced expulsion from the party on Wednesday following his criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent remarks during election rallies in Rajasthan. Ghani's expressions of discontent with PM Modi's statements, aired during a conversation with a news channel in New Delhi, led to his removal from the BJP for purportedly tarnishing the party's image.

During the interview, Ghani predicted that the BJP would lose several Lok Sabha seats out of Rajasthan's 25 and condemned PM Modi's comments regarding Muslims at election rallies in the state. Expressing disappointment as a Muslim himself, Ghani conveyed the community's concerns and quest for explanations when approached by him to seek votes for the BJP.

Furthermore, Ghani highlighted the dissatisfaction among the Jat community in the state, claiming their voting patterns against the BJP in constituencies like Churu. Despite potential repercussions, Ghani asserted his willingness to speak his mind without fear of consequences.

Upon the circulation of a video featuring Ghani's remarks on social media, BJP's state disciplinary committee chairman, Onkar Singh Lakhawat, attributed Ghani's actions to an attempt to discredit the party in the media. Consequently, the party opted to expel Ghani from its primary membership for six years, citing a breach of discipline.

The expulsion came amid heightened political activity in Rajasthan, particularly with the Bikaner Lok Sabha seat contesting in the first phase on April 19. PM Modi's recent rally in Banswara, where he purportedly insinuated that a Congress-led government would redistribute wealth to Muslims, has elicited criticism from various opposition factions.
