Case against the father of a Karnataka MP for harassing his home helper sexually

The recent scandal surrounding Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna has taken a new turn with allegations of sexual harassment leveled against him and his father, HD Revanna. According to police reports, a 47-year-old house help from the Revanna family has filed a complaint accusing both Prajwal and HD Revanna of sexual misconduct.

In her complaint, the woman detailed instances of alleged harassment, stating that HD Revanna and Prajwal had sexually assaulted female workers in their household. She described a pattern of behavior wherein female workers were reportedly fearful of Prajwal's presence in the home, and HD Revanna allegedly engaged in inappropriate conduct, such as touching female workers in the store room under the guise of offering fruit.

Furthermore, the complainant asserted that Prajwal had attempted to flirt with her daughter, prompting her to block his number. These accusations have led to the registration of a case by the police under several sections of the Indian Penal Code related to sexual harassment.

This development comes amid another controversy surrounding Prajwal Revanna, involving the circulation of explicit videos purportedly featuring him. The Karnataka government has initiated a Special Investigation Team to probe this matter, which has added to the ongoing scrutiny of Prajwal's conduct. Despite denying the authenticity of the videos and filing a complaint alleging manipulation, Prajwal has faced intensified scrutiny as he seeks reelection from the Hassan Lok Sabha constituency.
