US FAA is looking into whistleblower Boeing's quality claims on 777 and 787 aircraft

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating claims made by Boeing engineer Sam Salehpour regarding safety and quality concerns in the production of the company's 787 and 777 jets. Salehpour alleges that he identified engineering problems affecting the structural integrity of the jets and raised concerns about Boeing's use of shortcuts to expedite the assembly process of the 787.

According to Salehpour's attorneys, Boeing allegedly dismissed his warnings and prioritized rushing the planes to market despite the known issues he raised. Following the confirmation of the investigation by the FAA, Boeing's shares fell by 2%.

The FAA stated that it had met with the whistleblower, indicating that the investigation is ongoing. In response to the allegations, Boeing expressed full confidence in the 787 Dreamliner and stated that the claims were inaccurate, emphasizing the comprehensive work done by Boeing to ensure the quality and long-term safety of the aircraft.
