Arvind Kejriwal is not cleared; he is just granted temporary bail: Thakur Anurag

Union Minister Anurag Thakur clarified that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has not been absolved of charges in the money laundering case but has been granted interim bail with conditions. Thakur, in an exclusive interview with India Today, emphasized that Kejriwal, like other leaders of the opposition's INDIA bloc, has been given bail by the court under certain conditions, and this does not imply exoneration.

Using the phrase "chor chor mausere bhai" (two thieves are maternal cousins) to refer to leaders of the INDIA bloc, Thakur suggested that such alliances among leaders facing corruption charges wouldn't strengthen the opposition. He pointed out that Kejriwal has been instructed not to attend his office or sign any files due to the serious corruption charges he faces.

Thakur underscored the significance of the recent recovery of cash by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from the premises of Congress MLA Alamgir Alam's aide's house help. He highlighted this as an example of corruption within the opposition ranks and accused them of spreading confusion among the people.

On May 6, the ED recovered a substantial amount of unaccounted cash from the premises of the house help of Sanjiv Lal, personal secretary of Jharkhand Minister Alamgir Alam. Thakur cited this incident, along with other instances of alleged corruption within the opposition, to strengthen his argument against them.
