The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo moto cognizance of the case involving Bibhav Kumar, an aide to Arvind Kejriwal, who has been accused of assaulting Swati Maliwal. In response, the NCW has summoned Bibhav Kumar to appear before it on May 17th at 11 am.
The NCW's decision comes after Swati Maliwal, the Chief of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), alleged that she was assaulted by a member of Arvind Kejriwal's personal staff at the Chief Minister's official residence. Despite the allegation, the police stated that they had not received a formal complaint from Maliwal regarding the incident. However, they confirmed receiving a PCR call reporting the assault from a woman at 9:34 am.
The summons from the NCW to Bibhav Kumar indicate a significant development in the case, with the women's panel seeking to investigate the matter further.
