A recent tragic incident in Telangana’s Kamareddy district claimed the life of a young man due to accidental electrocution while he was asleep. The victim, identified as 23-year-old Maloth Anil, was reportedly charging his mobile phone using a live wire he had extended near his bed. Late on Friday, October 25, Anil inadvertently came into contact with the wire, resulting in a fatal electric shock. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital before being transferred to a government facility with more advanced medical equipment, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Anil’s untimely passing has left his family in grief; he had been married for just three years and leaves behind a wife and a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. His family and the local community are in shock over the tragic and preventable accident. As the police launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Anil’s death, they also issued a public advisory warning about the dangers of live wires and the potential hazards of charging devices near sleeping areas. Safety experts emphasize that proper charging equipment should always be used and that live wires should be avoided for makeshift electrical needs to prevent similar accidents.
This incident in Kamareddy is not an isolated case, as recent months have seen a disturbing rise in electrocution accidents across Telangana involving household electrical equipment. Earlier this week, a 40-year-old man in the Khammam district lost his life while using an electric heater rod to warm water for his pet dog. Tragically, he accidentally placed the live heater rod under his arm, leading to fatal injuries from the electric current. In another case, a man named G Naresh was fatally electrocuted while handling his mobile phone, which was still connected to a charger. These incidents highlight the critical need for public awareness about the potential hazards of electrical devices and the importance of safe charging practices, especially in home environments.
