Trailer for Kesari Veer: Sooraj Pancholi plays Hamirji Gohil, a Rajput warrior in a historical tale

Actor Sooraj Pancholi is gearing up for his much-anticipated return to the big screen with the period drama "Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath". In this historical epic, Pancholi portrays the role of Hamirji Gohil, a Rajput warrior who valiantly fought to protect the Somnath Temple from the Tughlaq Empire's attempts at destruction. His portrayal of the fierce warrior is expected to captivate audiences with a mix of valor and emotional depth.

The film also stars Suniel Shetty as Vegda Ji, a fellow warrior, and Vivek Oberoi, who plays the antagonist, Zafar Khan. A key highlight of the movie is the presence of Akanksha Sharma, who makes her acting debut as Rajal, a courageous female warrior who adds an important dimension to the battle for Somnath. The trailer, which was launched during a grand event in Mumbai on April 29, gives a glimpse into the film's intense battle sequences, historical context, and the heroic journey of unsung warriors who made sacrifices for their land and faith during the 14th century AD.

At the trailer launch, an emotional Sooraj Pancholi broke down in tears, reflecting on the immense hard work and dedication that both he and the entire "Kesari Veer" team had invested in the project. His emotional connection to the film is palpable, as he shared how deeply involved everyone was in bringing the story to life.

Directed by Prince Dhiman and produced by Kanubhai Chauhan under the Chauhan Studios banner, Kesari Veer is set to hit theatres on May 16, 2025. The film promises to be an action-packed and emotionally charged tale that shines a light on the lesser-known warriors who played crucial roles in defending India’s rich heritage. Fans of period dramas and historical action will likely have this one marked on their calendars.
