Actor Suniel Shetty recently launched the trailer of his upcoming film, "Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath", in Mumbai on Tuesday. During the event, Shetty touched upon several key themes, including the importance of the film, but also shared his thoughts on the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack, which claimed 26 innocent lives.
At 63, Shetty was vocal about the ongoing issue of terrorism in Kashmir, particularly condemning those who he believes cannot stand to see the region prosper. He lauded the Indian government's decisive actions, particularly the abrogation of Article 370, which he sees as a step toward the betterment of Kashmir. He emphasized that the film, much like his own values, speaks about dharma (righteousness), karma (action), and seva (service), encouraging unity in the face of adversity.
Shetty stated, "Who are we? We are only about dharma, karma, and seva. This film teaches us the same. We stay silent until we are provoked — and that’s exactly what’s happening right now. Our government is doing incredible work." His words resonated with the current sentiment of resilience and unity in the country, as he pointed out the progress made in Kashmir post-Article 370's abrogation, while also acknowledging that there are forces opposed to that progress.
He further added, "There’s been remarkable progress in Kashmir. Article 370 was abrogated, and since then, development has been happening. But there are some who don’t want this progress. This film also carries the same message — that we must stay united, stand together, and identify as Indians first." To underscore his message, he ended with a call to unity: "Har Har Mahadev" and "Bharat Mata ki Jai."
Shetty also shared his personal sentiments through a social media post expressing his desire to visit Kashmir, despite the ongoing threat of terrorism. His statement reflected the resilient spirit of the people, emphasizing that tourism in the Valley should not be deterred by violence. His defiance, rooted in love for the region, underscores the belief that combating terrorism starts with refusing to live in fear and continuing to support the region's growth and beauty.
Kesari Veer: Legends of Somnath, set to release soon, captures the historic struggle of unsung warriors and is expected to inspire and resonate deeply with Indian audiences, especially in the current climate of unity and resistance against violence.
