According to a new teaser, Nothing Phone (3) might do away with the Glyph UI

Nothing is teasing some big shifts, starting with the possible end of its signature Glyph Interface — those quirky LED light strips on the back that have been the brand’s visual hallmark since the Phone (1) in 2022. The company shared a dramatic video on X (Twitter) showing the Glyph lights flickering out, essentially saying goodbye to this unique feature.

Why is this a big deal? The Glyph Interface wasn’t just flashy decoration. It offered users customizable light patterns for notifications, battery status, timers, and even acted as a soft light while taking photos — giving the Nothing phones a distinctive, futuristic personality.

Now, speculation is that Nothing might replace the Glyphs with something fresh: dot-matrix or pixel-style displays. The teaser videos hint at retro pixel art and arcade-inspired animations on the phone’s back, which could mean a completely new kind of visual language — a nod to vintage tech with a modern twist. It’s a bold move but could refresh the brand’s identity beyond just LEDs.

Price Shock: Nothing Phone (3) to be a Premium Flagship

The other big news is the price hike. Carl Pei, Nothing’s co-founder, has dropped hints that the Phone (3) won’t be the affordable, stylish underdog it once was. Instead, it’s set to be Nothing’s “first true flagship” — meaning top-tier specs and a price to match.

Pei mentioned a UK price around £800, which translates roughly to Rs 92,000 — nearly double the launch price of the Phone (2). While Nothing typically adjusts prices for the Indian market, industry insiders expect it to cost between Rs 60,000 and Rs 70,000 locally. Still a significant jump from the previous Phone (2) pricing, but hopefully justified by a flagship processor, better cameras, premium materials, and the rumored dot-matrix display.

In short, Nothing Phone (3) is shaping up to be a bold reinvention — ditching the quirky Glyph LEDs for a retro-modern pixel vibe, while stepping firmly into premium flagship territory with a much higher price. It’s a risky but exciting shift for the brand that started with a spark and now aims to blaze even brighter.
