Asaduddin Owaisi makes fun of Pakistan for a phony camera image

Asaduddin Owaisi's recent remarks in Kuwait took a sharp, satirical aim at Pakistan's military establishment, ridiculing what he called a propaganda blunder involving a Chinese military drill photo being passed off as evidence of Pakistani military success against India.

During an address to the Indian diaspora, the AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP mocked the incident where Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir reportedly presented Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with a framed photograph of what he claimed was a successful Pakistani military strike on India. However, the image was quickly identified as a widely available photo of a Chinese Army drill from 2019, specifically featuring the PHL-03 multiple rocket launcher, originally taken by photographer Huang Hai.

Owaisi didn’t hold back, calling the Pakistani military leaders “stupid jokers” for attempting to use someone else’s military image as a symbol of their supposed victory. His quip —

“Nakal karne ke liye akal chahiye, inke paas akal bhi nahi hai” (It takes brains to copy, and they don’t even have that)
— landed as both a roast and a geopolitical jab, drawing laughter and applause from the audience.

He also urged the public to be cautious and not fall for Pakistan's misinformation tactics, stressing:

“Whatever Pakistan is saying, do not take even with a pinch of salt.”

This episode has added to the embarrassment for Pakistan’s military establishment, as India has already shared verified photos and videos of its precision strikes during Operation Sindoor. The use of a recycled, unrelated image by Pakistan is now being seen as both a desperate attempt at face-saving and a serious credibility lapse.

The incident also reflects the ongoing psychological and media war between the two nations, where symbolism and optics are weaponized as much as actual military hardware. For now, Owaisi’s takedown has added a viral, satirical edge to the discourse — exposing how misinformation can spectacularly backfire.
