Ikkis: On Gandhi Jayanti, Dharmendra and Agastya Nanda's military drama will be released

Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson, Agastya Nanda, is gearing up for a significant career milestone with his upcoming big screen debut in Ikkis, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sriram Raghavan. The war drama also features veteran actors Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat, and is centered on the heroic life of Arun Khetrapal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee who sacrificed his life in the 1971 India-Pakistan war.

The film’s makers recently released a teaser and announced an October 2 release date. Ikkis promises to blend emotional storytelling with gripping battle sequences, presenting a fresh take on the war genre. Sriram Raghavan described the film as both a war drama and a departure from his usual thrillers, providing him a chance to explore different storytelling styles without carrying any creative “baggage” into his next projects.

For Agastya Nanda, Ikkis is his second film after his debut in Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix production The Archies (2023), which also marked the debut of Khushi Kapoor and Suhana Khan. This new project positions him alongside some of Indian cinema’s respected veterans and puts him in the spotlight with a story of courage and sacrifice deeply rooted in Indian history.
