This post has since gone viral, marking the first time they have publicly acknowledged their relationship.
Dhawan and Sophie were first spotted together during a Champions Trophy match in Dubai earlier in 2025. The couple also attended a media event, where Dhawan hinted at having found love again. During the event, Dhawan playfully referred to Sophie as "the most beautiful girl in the room," but refrained from naming her directly.
Sophie Shine, originally from Ireland, works as a Second Vice President - Product Consultant at Northern Trust Corporation, an American financial services company. She holds a degree in Marketing and Management from the Limerick Institute of Technology and has also studied at Castleroy College in Ireland. The couple reportedly met in the UAE, where Sophie resides.
Dhawan’s relationship with Sophie comes after his divorce from his wife, Aesha Mukherjee, in October 2023. The couple was married for 11 years before parting ways, and Dhawan had been candid about the emotional toll of the separation. In a February 2025 interview, Dhawan revealed that he had not seen or spoken to his son, Zoravar, in over two years. Their divorce was finalized after years of challenges, including Dhawan’s allegations of being kept apart from his son.
Despite the court granting him visitation rights, Dhawan has claimed that he has been blocked from all virtual communication with Zoravar, a situation that has caused him significant distress.
