Indian soldiers are on alert as Pakistan moves troops to advanced areas: Government

The ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan has escalated to its most intense level since the 1999 Kargil War, marked by significant military engagements and heightened tensions along the border.

Troop Movements and Military Build-Up

India has reported that Pakistan is mobilizing troops to forward areas along the border, a move not seen since the Kargil conflict. This build-up is interpreted as an offensive posture, prompting India to maintain a high state of operational readiness.

Pakistan's 'Operation Bunyan Ul Marsoos'

In response to India's earlier strikes, Pakistan launched 'Operation Bunyan Ul Marsoos', targeting Indian military installations across Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat. The operation involved the use of drones, long-range weapons, loitering munitions, and fighter jets. Notably, a Fatah-II ballistic missile aimed at Delhi was intercepted by Indian defenses in Haryana's Sirsa.

India's 'Operation Sindoor'

India conducted precision strikes on eight Pakistani military sites, including airbases at Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Chunian, as well as radar sites in Pasrur and an aviation base in Sialkot. These strikes targeted technical installations, command and control centers, radar sites, and arms stores, aiming to minimize collateral damage.

Casualties and Civilian Impact

The conflict has resulted in significant casualties on both sides, with reports of over 60 fatalities, including civilians. Pakistan's attacks reportedly targeted hospitals and school premises at airbases in Srinagar, Awantipur, and Udhampur, actions condemned by India as irresponsible and aimed at civilian infrastructure.

International Reactions and Diplomatic Efforts

The international community, including the U.S., China, and the G7, has expressed concern over the escalating conflict and urged both nations to exercise restraint and engage in dialogue. While both India and Pakistan have indicated a willingness to de-escalate if the other reciprocates, the situation remains volatile.

Conclusion

The current escalation underscores the fragile nature of India-Pakistan relations and the potential for rapid deterioration into broader conflict. Continued international diplomatic engagement is crucial to prevent further escalation and to promote a peaceful resolution to the ongoing tensions.
