'Sleepless nights' for Shaheer Sheikh about his family's safety in Jammu, owing to the Army

Shaheer Sheikh, the popular actor from Bhaderwah, Jammu, has expressed his deep gratitude and admiration for the Indian Armed Forces in light of the rising tensions between India and Pakistan. In a heartfelt post on Instagram, he shared how the ongoing conflict had affected his family, especially his mother and sister, who are residing in Jammu. The recent Pakistan drone and missile strikes targeting military zones in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur caused immense worry for his family. Shaheer described the sleepless nights they endured, but also acknowledged the incredible response from the Indian forces.

He wrote, "Eternally indebted to our armed forces! My mother & sister are in Jammu... & the attacks gave us all sleepless nights. But to see the precision, swiftness and bravery with which our forces responded is remarkable. I can only imagine what the families of a soldier go through when their ‘own’ is on the frontline." He went on to salute the resilience of both the soldiers and their families, emphasizing how their courage, both on the battlefield and in everyday life, plays a crucial role in keeping the country and its citizens safe.

Shaheer concluded his post by offering his "sincere condolences to the people who lost their loved ones" during these tense times, and paid homage to the bravery of the armed forces with the words, "Jai Hind."

In addition to his emotional tribute, Shaheer also referred to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam's Baisaran meadow on April 22, which tragically killed 26 people and injured many others. In response to these attacks, the Indian Armed Forces launched 'Operation Sindoor' on May 8, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, though the strikes were carefully calibrated to avoid hitting Pakistani military facilities.

On the professional front, Shaheer was last seen in the Netflix thriller ‘Do Patti’, where he played the lead role opposite Kriti Sanon. The film, directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi and written by Kanika Dhillon, also stars Kajol and Tanvi Azmi.
