Video: A Noida lineman saves the day by removing a signboard off a live wire

A major disaster was narrowly avoided in Noida after an electricity department worker bravely removed a large signboard fragment that had become dangerously entangled on a high-tension power line near Sector-20 during a bout of heavy rain and strong winds.

As the storm swept through the city, trees and electric poles were uprooted across several localities. In the midst of this chaos, a part of a signboard was dislodged by the wind and got stuck on a live high-voltage power line, leading to an immediate power outage in nearby areas and posing a severe risk of electrocution or fire.

In a moment that could have easily turned catastrophic, a quick-thinking and courageous worker from the electricity department climbed up and manually removed the debris from the live wire. Power supply was temporarily interrupted during the dangerous operation but was quickly restored once the hazard was cleared.

Bystanders captured the act on video, and the footage quickly went viral across social media platforms. Many praised the worker’s courage, with comments hailing him as a “Superman” and a true hero for risking his life to prevent what could have been a devastating accident.

This incident highlights both the vulnerability of infrastructure during extreme weather and the vital role of frontline utility workers in maintaining safety and essential services under pressure.
