Rajasthan Police’s Intelligence Wing has arrested a civilian employee from the Naval Headquarters in Delhi for allegedly leaking classified information to a Pakistani intelligence handler.
The accused, Vishal Yadav, is an Upper Division Clerk (UDC) and a resident of Punsika in Rewari, Haryana. He was arrested under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, after being under surveillance by CID Intelligence Rajasthan for suspected espionage activities.
Inspector General of Police (CID Security) Vishnukant Gupta said that Yadav worked in the Directorate of Dockyard. He was in regular contact with a Pakistani female handler who used the alias Priya Sharma. Investigators believe she lured Yadav into sharing confidential naval information by offering him money.
Yadav was reportedly addicted to online gaming and began leaking sensitive information to deal with financial pressures. Investigations revealed that he received payments through his cryptocurrency wallet (in USDT) and bank accounts. This has raised concern about the role of digital currencies in espionage networks.
Forensic analysis of his mobile phone uncovered evidence, including chat records and documents, suggesting that Yadav had previously shared classified naval information during Operation Sindoor. This indicates that his involvement in espionage may have continued over a long period.
Yadav is currently being interrogated by multiple intelligence agencies at a secure location in Jaipur. Authorities are now trying to identify possible accomplices and evaluate the full extent of the data leak.
Security agencies have also issued a public advisory, urging citizens to remain cautious while using social media and to report any suspicious contact or activity immediately.
