Do you own a Galaxy phone? Samsung releases advice on how to prolong its use

Absolutely, running out of phone battery mid-day is a universal frustration — and Samsung’s tips really make a lot of sense without requiring you to be a tech wizard. Here’s a quick, easy-to-follow rundown to keep your Galaxy phone powered up longer, so you’re not left scrambling for a charger:

1. Dim That Screen & Shorten Screen Timeout

Your gorgeous screen burns through battery fast. Pull down the brightness slider and slide it down, or turn on Auto Brightness so it adjusts automatically. Also, set your screen to turn off quickly—30 seconds is a sweet spot.

2. Kick Out Battery-Hogging Apps

Unused apps running in the background silently eat your battery. Delete or disable any you don’t need by long-pressing the app icon or going through Settings > Apps.

3. Tame the Always On Display

Convenient but sneaky battery drainer. Either turn it off or schedule it to show only during certain hours in Settings > Lock screen > Always On Display.

4. Turn Off Unused Wireless Features

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS constantly search for connections. If you’re not using them, just switch them off via quick settings to save juice.

5. Enable Power Saving Mode

This mode dims your screen, limits background processes, and tweaks performance to stretch battery life. Toggle it on in Settings > Device Maintenance > Battery.

6. Keep Software Updated & Manage Syncing

Old software versions can be less efficient. Update your phone regularly and reduce how often apps like email or social media sync automatically—set them to manual refresh if you can.

7. Treat Your Battery Right

Avoid letting your battery drop to zero. Try to keep it above 20% most of the time. If storing your phone unused, charge it to about 50% and keep it somewhere cool and dry (not the freezer!).

8. Mind Your Signal Strength

Poor signal makes your phone work harder and kill battery faster. When in low coverage zones and not using the phone actively, switch to Airplane Mode to save power.

Quick summary:

Dim the screen, cut unnecessary apps and wireless signals, turn on power saver, update software, charge wisely, and watch your signal strength. Do these and your Galaxy’s battery will last longer without much hassle.
