Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that Iran’s Islamic regime plotted to assassinate former US President Donald Trump, calling him “enemy number one.” In an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu said Iran targeted Trump because of his hard stance against their nuclear ambitions.
Netanyahu praised Trump for pulling the US out of the Iran nuclear deal and for ordering the killing of Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani, calling those moves decisive. He said, “They want to kill him... He never took the weak path of bargaining.”
The Israeli Prime Minister also claimed he himself was targeted by Iran, stating that a missile struck his bedroom window during a recent attack. He described Trump as his “junior partner” in the fight against Iran’s nuclear program.
Netanyahu defended Israel’s recent military campaign, saying it was launched to stop what he called an “imminent threat” from Iran. He said Iran is rapidly advancing its ability to build nuclear weapons and produce thousands of ballistic missiles.
According to him, Iran aims to manufacture 3,600 missiles a year, reaching 10,000 in three years, and possibly 20,000 within 26 years. He argued that Israel cannot afford to wait and must act now.
The Israeli leader said that the current offensive, named Operation Rising Lion, has already set back Iran’s nuclear progress “quite a bit.” He ruled out any meaningful talks with Iran and emphasized that Israel is acting not just for its own safety but to protect global security.
Despite a strong missile response from Iran, which Israel claims to have mostly intercepted, Netanyahu said his country will do “whatever is necessary” to eliminate the threat. He also addressed the Iranian people, blaming their leaders for oppression and hostility toward Israel for the past 50 years.
