Indian cricketer Rinku Singh is set to get engaged to Priya Saroj, the newly elected Samajwadi Party MP from Machhlishahr, on Sunday, June 8. The ring ceremony will be held at a hotel in Lucknow, marking a significant personal milestone for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) star.
Rinku recently wrapped up his IPL 2025 season, where KKR failed to reach the playoffs. Despite the team’s underwhelming finish—eighth place with just 5 wins in 14 games—Rinku maintained solid form, scoring 206 runs in 13 matches at an average of 29.42 and an impressive strike rate of 153.73.
The engagement has been in the making for some time. Earlier this year, Tufani Saroj, the SP MLA from Kerakat and Priya's father, confirmed that discussions between the two families had taken place in Aligarh. He noted that both sides had reached a mutual understanding about the relationship.
"Rinku and Priya have known each other for more than a year now. They both liked each other but needed their families' consent. Both families have agreed to this marriage," he stated.
