Teaser for Sardaar Ji 3: Diljit Dosanjh makes a comeback as a humorous ghost hunter

Diljit Dosanjh is once again lighting up screens and sparking headlines—this time with the much-awaited teaser of ‘Sardaar Ji 3’, the third installment in his beloved Punjabi supernatural-comedy franchise. Scheduled to release on June 27, the film reunites him with Neeru Bajwa, promising another vibrant ride filled with quirky humour, ghost-hunting antics, and cultural charm.

👻 ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ Teaser Highlights

  • Setting: The teaser opens in the UK’s most haunted castle, where a paranormal emergency leads to a frantic search for someone bold enough to enter.

  • Enter Diljit: He returns in his iconic avatar as the stylish ghost hunter, complete with swagger, signature turban, and laugh-out-loud bravado.

  • The teaser hints at fast-paced comedy, exaggerated horror elements, and Diljit’s unique brand of folksy charisma that fans have loved since the first Sardaar Ji (2015).

  • VFX & visuals appear upgraded from previous entries, suggesting a bigger budget and more ambition this time around.

🧨 Controversy Around Casting

The film’s buzz is also being overshadowed by allegations involving Pakistani actors in the cast:

  • Names mentioned include Hania Aamir, Nasir Chinyoti, Daniel Khawar, and Saleem Albela.

  • The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has accused Diljit of non-cooperation and warned of possible industry sanctions.

  • BN Tiwari, FWICE President, issued a strong statement calling such collaborations a threat to national interests, suggesting that artists who ignore these warnings could be banned from working in the Indian film industry.

“They will be accused of non-cooperation... There is no place for traitors,” Tiwari said, urging immediate corrective action.

Diljit Dosanjh, as of now, has not issued a public response to the accusations or the threatened ban.

🎥 Diljit’s Work Slate

Despite the controversy, Dosanjh’s career remains packed:

  • Just released:

    • Jatt & Juliet 3 — a romantic comedy co-starring Neeru Bajwa and Jasmin Bajwa, continuing one of Punjabi cinema’s most successful franchises.

  • 🎬 Upcoming:

    • ‘Detective Sherdil’ — a mystery-comedy featuring Chunky Pandey and Diana Penty, promising a blend of slapstick and suspense.

📈 Impact and Outlook

  • The ‘Sardaar Ji’ franchise has historically performed well at the Punjabi box office and among diaspora audiences.

  • While the teaser has fans excited, the political controversy may:

    • Affect domestic distribution or clearance

    • Spark boycotts or social media backlash

    • Force the makers to issue clarifications or edit casting credits

However, Diljit remains one of the few Punjabi stars with pan-India and global recognition, and his growing influence in Hindi films and international music gives him considerable leverage.
