‘Panchayat’ Season 5 Officially Announced for 2026 by Prime Video and TVF
Following the tremendous success of Panchayat Season 4, Prime Video and The Viral Fever (TVF) have officially confirmed that the beloved rural drama will return for a fifth season in 2026. The announcement arrives in the wake of Season 4's record-breaking debut on June 24, which marked the highest opening in the show's history.
Manish Menghani, Director & Head of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, expressed pride in the series’ growing global appeal, stating that Panchayat Season 4 was streamed in over 180 countries and ranked in the Top 10 trending shows across more than 42 nations on its release day. In India, the show trended at No. 1 and was watched across 95% of the country’s pin codes in its first week alone.
TVF President Vijay Koshy described the show’s journey as “extraordinary,” highlighting the continued collaboration with Prime Video as a key factor in its success.
Season 4 starred Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, and Faisal Malik, with standout performances by Ashok Pathak as Binod, a character who gained critical acclaim this season. The emotional depth and authenticity of the storytelling were praised by critics, with India Today calling Pathak’s performance “fantastic” and highlighting his impactful moments during the election verdict and interactions with Manju Devi.
The series, created by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Chandan Kumar, and co-directed by Akshat Vijaywargiya, has cemented its place as one of India’s most-loved OTT shows. It was also the recipient of the inaugural Best Web Series (OTT) award at the 54th International Film Festival of India in 2023.
Panchayat Season 4 was also a key highlight of Prime Video’s Prime Day 2025 programming slate. As the story of Phulera and its residents continues to resonate globally, fans now eagerly await the arrival of Season 5 in 2026.
