Anasuya Bharadwaj, an actress from Pushpa, silences haters who criticize her style choices

Actor Anasuya Bharadwaj, widely recognised for her impactful performances in popular Telugu films such as Pushpa and Hari Hara Veera Mallu, recently issued a strong and thoughtful response to social media users who have criticised her fashion choices, especially pointing fingers at her as a mother of two. Addressing the public scrutiny, Bharadwaj took to her official social media platforms to post a lengthy and heartfelt message aimed at dismantling the deeply entrenched stereotypes that expect mothers to adhere to a certain "appropriate" look or lifestyle. She underscored that bold fashion or confidence in appearance should not be misinterpreted as a lack of values or disrespectful behaviour.

In her detailed post shared on July 30, Anasuya wrote with clarity and emotional conviction: “Yes, I am a woman, a wife, and a mother of two beautiful children. I also enjoy expressing myself through my appearance, embracing style, glamour, and confidence. These elements are not trends to me—they are an essential part of who I am.” She challenged the regressive societal notion that once a woman becomes a mother, she must dress or behave more conservatively, arguing that self-expression does not stop with motherhood.

Reacting to recent online videos and comments that criticised her clothing and public appearances, Bharadwaj pointed out that such judgments often come from individuals who neither know her personally nor understand her life or choices. “To be criticised for simply living authentically? That’s where I draw the line,” she remarked. She highlighted that what truly matters is the unconditional support and love she receives from her family—her husband and her children—who appreciate her for the person she genuinely is, without imposing expectations or restrictions.

Continuing her message, she asserted that confidence, self-love, and grace can coexist with glamour, and being open or expressive doesn’t mean one is setting a bad example. “My children are growing up seeing a woman who is confident, compassionate, self-assured, and unafraid of being herself. That, in my opinion, is the true legacy we should leave for our next generation,” she explained. Bharadwaj took care to clarify that she isn’t advocating that everyone should emulate her lifestyle, but she strongly believes in the right of every person—especially women—to live their life with dignity and authenticity, without facing ridicule.

To her detractors and critics, she offered a calm yet assertive rebuttal: “Choosing how I dress or present myself does not mean I have abandoned my morals. Being bold or fashionable isn’t the same as being disrespectful.” She encouraged people to look beyond superficial judgments and try to understand that diversity in lifestyle and thought enriches society.

In a powerful closing statement, Anasuya Bharadwaj expressed hope for a more empathetic and accepting world. “If we can learn to accept and celebrate our differences rather than attack them, we can all live together more harmoniously. I will continue to be who I am—unapologetically, lovingly, and with unwavering respect for others,” she concluded.

Anasuya Bharadwaj, who continues to be a prominent presence in the Telugu film industry, was last seen in Hari Hara Veera Mallu starring Pawan Kalyan, and she remains an integral part of director Sukumar’s ongoing Pushpa franchise.
