Around fifteen days ago, a serious incident of alleged molestation took place involving a personal assistant of Uttar Pradesh Minister Asim Arun and a female staff member working in his office. The employee, fearing the possible consequences, initially refrained from reporting the assault, which reportedly happened on two separate occasions. However, after gathering the courage to speak up, she approached Minister Arun directly and informed him of the abuse she had endured. Upon hearing her complaint, the minister acted without delay, ensuring that the matter was reported to the police immediately and appropriate action was initiated.
Minister Arun personally confirmed that the police had been alerted about the incident and are actively investigating the case. He took to social media to express his commitment to justice and maintaining a respectful work environment. He stressed the importance of taking women’s complaints seriously, stating that a woman’s testimony is sufficient to warrant not just an FIR, but even a potential conviction. As a person in a position of authority, he highlighted his responsibility to uphold a safe and professional atmosphere for all employees, regardless of gender. He clearly stated that any attempt to disturb this environment would not be tolerated and would be met with firm action.
Further elaborating on the matter, Minister Arun revealed that the female staff member had accused the private secretary of molestation on two different occasions. After receiving her report, he promptly contacted the police to register the case and ensured that the accused was questioned. In addition to the criminal investigation, Minister Arun also reached out to the Sachivalaya Prashasan Department, which oversees personnel-related decisions, requesting them to launch an internal inquiry and take necessary administrative measures. This dual approach of pursuing both legal and administrative channels demonstrates the minister’s intent to handle the matter comprehensively and justly.
The accused assistant had been working in the office for approximately eight months before these allegations coming to light. His sudden implication in such a serious offense has drawn widespread attention and raised concerns about the safeguards in place for women working in government offices. While the investigation continues, this case highlights the broader issue of workplace safety and the importance of empowering victims to speak up without fear of retribution or judgment.
In a separate but politically charged development, Minister Arun criticized the Samajwadi Party for introducing “PDA paathshalas,” where the English alphabet is being taught using politically symbolic references. According to reports, these classrooms teach children phrases like “A for Akhilesh Yadav,” “B for Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar,” “C for Chaudhary Charan Singh,” “D for Dimple Yadav,” and “M for Mulayam Singh Yadav.” Minister Arun strongly condemned this educational approach, claiming it reflected the party’s long-standing practice of politicizing public platforms and spaces. He accused the Samajwadi Party of favoritism, particularly in the appointment of government jobs, and of using state resources for self-promotion—such as printing their own images on laptops distributed through government schemes.
Minister Arun made it clear that such activities undermine democratic values and would not be tolerated under his administration. He vowed to put an end to any attempts at political indoctrination in government-supported educational initiatives. This incident, coupled with the allegations of misconduct in his own office, paints a picture of an administration actively trying to address both internal workplace ethics and broader political accountability.
