According to reliable sources close to the matter, Nitish is not satisfied with the role he was given in the franchise during the recent IPL season. The cricketer is said to be seeking a team where he can play a more impactful role as a batter, a responsibility he believes he did not receive adequately at SRH. Despite being retained by the franchise during the mega-auction for a hefty sum of ₹6 crore, Nitish feels that his potential with the bat was not utilized effectively, which has prompted him to consider leaving the team for better opportunities.
In the 2025 season of the IPL, Nitish Reddy featured in 13 matches for SRH. Though he is known for his all-round capabilities, he was used sparingly as a bowler and delivered only 5 overs throughout the entire tournament.
