Shreyanka Patil is set to make a promising return to competitive cricket, as she finds a place in the India A squad for the upcoming multi-format tour of Australia. This marks a significant comeback for the talented all-rounder, who has been out of action since the Women’s T20 World Cup held in the UAE last year and also missed the Women’s Premier League 2025 due to injury.
Although she’s named in the T20 squad, her participation is still dependent on a final fitness clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE). Earlier in the year, Shreyanka was awarded a Grade C contract in the BCCI central contracts—a sign of the board’s continued faith in her potential. Adding to her recent milestones, she was also picked in the 2025 Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) draft, joining Salonee Dangore and Shikha Pandey as the only three Indian players selected.
The India A squad will be led by Radha Yadav, who has been named captain across all three formats. Minnu Mani, who captained the side during last year’s Australia tour, will now serve as the vice-captain.
Another notable inclusion is Shafali Verma, who recently made her return to the senior Indian side during the tour of England. She features in all three squads—T20s, one-dayers, and the four-day game—signaling her increasing importance across formats.
Young Bengal pacer Titas Sadhu and wicketkeeper Nandini Kashyap from Uttarakhand have also been named in all formats, highlighting the selectors' focus on grooming young talent.
The tour kicks off with the T20Is on August 7, 9, and 10 in Mackay. The action then moves to the one-dayers scheduled for August 13, 15, and 17 at Norths. The campaign wraps up with a four-day red-ball match at Allan Border Field in Brisbane, starting August 21.
