Shanaya Kapoor is gearing up for her Bollywood debut with Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, and she’s approaching the spotlight with a grounded perspective. Despite being the daughter of Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, Shanaya is choosing not to shy away from criticism. In fact, she actively seeks it out.
In an interview, she revealed, “I’m someone who looks for negative articles and comments. I owe it to the audience to know what they are saying.” While acknowledging that some remarks—particularly about her looks, dressing, and body—can be harsh, she said she has learned to filter them and focus on constructive feedback. “I take it in a positive way. It's feedback on my craft to work on and getting better,” she said.
The trailer of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, released recently, has been met with warm responses. The film is a romantic drama starring Vikrant Massey as a blind man, with Shanaya playing the female lead. Directed by Santosh Singh and written by Mansi Bagla, the film is produced by Zee Studios and Mini Films. It is slated for theatrical release on July 11.
Shanaya, who also appeared briefly on The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives with her mother, is now stepping into a more serious cinematic space. Her candidness about fame, body image, and self-growth suggests she’s prepared for more than just the glam—it’s the craft she’s focused on.
