Comedian Kapil Sharma’s newly launched Kap’s Cafe in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, was caught in a disturbing incident late Wednesday night after shots were fired at the building where the café is located. Fortunately, no one was injured in the firing, but the incident has left many shaken.
What’s more alarming is that Harjeet Singh Laddi, a Khalistani terrorist wanted by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA), has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack. Laddi is known to be linked with the banned outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI). Authorities are still investigating whether the attack was specifically targeted at Kapil Sharma’s café or intended as a broader message of intimidation. So far, Kapil has not made any public statement regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, Kapil’s professional life continues to make headlines. The Kapil Sharma Show recently returned with its third season, now streaming on Netflix. The show kicked off on June 21 with Salman Khan as the first guest, followed by the cast of Metro In Dino. The third episode featured Indian cricketers, and this Saturday, the show will welcome a lineup of popular OTT stars including Jaideep Ahlawat, Vijay Varma, Pratik Gandhi, and Jeetendra Kumar.
Despite the cafe controversy, Kapil Sharma’s presence in both comedy and conversation continues to grow — on-screen and off.
