A automobile in Uttar Pradesh crashes into a ditch, killing five people

A tragic road accident occurred in the Pilibhit district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday, claiming five lives and leaving six others critically injured. The collision happened near Vishen village when a speeding Toyota Fortuner, reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road, rammed head-on into a tempo carrying passengers bound for Amariya.

The Fortuner, allegedly being driven recklessly at high speed, struck the tempo with such force that the vehicle was hurled off the road and plunged into a roadside ditch. The tempo, which was designed to accommodate only five people, was carrying more than eight passengers at the time of the crash, making the impact even more devastating.

Four of the passengers lost their lives instantly at the site of the accident, while another victim succumbed to injuries later during treatment. Among the injured were two young children, a woman, and a man, all of whom sustained severe wounds.

The tempo was completely mangled in the collision, while the occupants of the Fortuner escaped serious harm due to the timely deployment of safety airbags. The driver of the car, however, fled the scene immediately after the accident and is currently absconding.

Rescue efforts were swiftly initiated, and all the injured victims were taken to the district hospital, where two of them remain in critical condition and are under intensive medical care.

As soon as the authorities received information about the tragedy, District Magistrate Gyanendra Singh, along with Chief Medical Officer (CMO), rushed to the site. They met with the grieving families of the victims and assured them of every possible support and assistance from the administration.
