A new book says that Prince Harry slapped Prince Andrew for a comment made by Meghan Markle

Prince Harry has firmly denied sensational claims from a new book that allege he physically attacked his uncle, Prince Andrew, over remarks made about Meghan Markle. The explosive allegation appears in Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, authored by royal historian Andrew Lownie, who asserts that a serious confrontation occurred after Andrew allegedly referred to Meghan as an “opportunist.” According to the book, Harry responded by punching Andrew, allegedly leaving him with a bloody nose.

Harry’s team initially offered no comment but later issued a clear rebuttal, calling the claim “completely false.” A spokesperson stated unequivocally that “Prince Harry and Prince Andrew have never had a physical fight, nor did Prince Andrew ever make those comments about the Duchess of Sussex.”

Despite this denial, Lownie is standing by his account, insisting his unnamed source is credible and close to Prince Andrew. He also revealed he did not reach out to the Sussexes for verification, citing that his publisher did not mandate it. The move has raised ethical questions about fact-checking and responsible reporting, especially given the book’s potentially damaging claims.

The timing of the controversy deepens tensions already present within the royal family and media landscape. Prince Harry is currently entangled in a lawsuit against The Daily Mail, accusing the outlet of illicit information gathering. The story originally appeared through a tabloid-affiliated channel, further intensifying the public rift between Harry and the British press.

The book also revisits Prince Andrew’s deeply troubled past. New allegations linked to his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein describe Andrew as having a compulsive obsession with women. Lownie claims that Epstein once remarked that Andrew was “more obsessed with women than me,” and some sources suggest Andrew may have had sexual relations with over 1,000 women—labeling his behavior as indicative of serial sex addiction.

Andrew’s public standing plummeted in 2022 when he was stripped of his royal titles and responsibilities following Virginia Giuffre’s lawsuit, which alleged sexual abuse during her teenage years. Though Andrew settled the case out of court, the scandal irreversibly damaged his public image.

As the Royal Family attempts to manage its already strained public relations, this new controversy threatens to reopen wounds and intensify scrutiny on both internal family dynamics and the ongoing reckoning around royal accountability.
